Focus Hong Kong is back at the Garden Cinema for our first-ever Halloween event, celebrating the beloved spooky cinema of Hong Kong with a rare screening of the 2001 classic Visible Secret. Directed by Ann Hui, one of the most acclaimed contemporary Hong Kong filmmakers, the all-star ghostly tale offers a very different take on the supernatural to most of the Ring rip-offs so popular around the world at the time. By turns terrifying, hilarious and moving, and coming with a wistful line in social commentary that depicts the youth of Hong Kong trapped between two worlds, Visible Secret is a beautifully shot film which demands to be seen on the big screen.
