Possession Street

The residents of a rundown Hong Kong shopping mall battle the undead in this spirited and inventive revitalisation of the zombie genre

A rundown shopping mall is overrun with flesh-eating zombies, forcing the ragtag bunch of occupants to fight not only for their own survival, but for that of Hong Kong – and possibly the world. Jack Lai’s debut feature is a thrilling mix of intense survival horror, character drama and satire which draws upon Taoist philosophy and its concepts of the body and spirit, paying tribute to old-school Hong Kong genre cinema while revitalising it and upending its traditions.
