Pedicab Driver

A rare screening of one of martial arts master Sammo Hung’s most beloved films, a thrilling mix of action, comedy and romance

Long unavailable in any kind of decent release, Pedicab Driver has become a cult favourite and is regularly included in lists of the all-time greats of the genre. Directed by the legendary Sammo Hung at the height of his powers and featuring an amazing cast of kung fu talents, the film is a uniquely Hong Kong style slice of chaotic fun, an incredibly entertaining and breathless mix of martial arts, slapstick comedy and romance which smoothly shifts gears and accelerates into an intense and explosive finale.

Lo Tung and his friend Malted Candy, pedicab drivers working the streets of Macao, have both fallen in love. The problem is that both their objects of affection – one a baker, the other a prostitute – are working under cruel and lecherous bosses. Somehow, the pair must find a way to win the ladies’ hearts and free them from their unpleasant jobs.
