A Guilty Conscience

One of the biggest Hong Kong hits of the year and a hugely entertaining underdog court thriller

One of the biggest Hong Kong box office hits of the year, writer director Jack Ng’s debut is a tense courtroom drama following a lawyer who takes on the corrupt elite as he tries to free an innocent woman jailed years back as a result of his own negligence. Pioneering comedian Dayo Wong leads a fantastic ensemble cast in a classic underdog tale of the pursuit of justice and redemption that puts the Hong Kong justice system itself on trial, combining sly social commentary and humour with nail-biting twists and intrigue.

July 2023 screenings supported by the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office London.
