Acclaimed writer director Philip Yung (Port of Call) returns with a gripping epic exploring the complex, dangerous era of 1960s Hong Kong. Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung, two of Hong Kong’s most iconic stars, play police officers struggling with competing triads and the British colonial authorities as they try to restore law and order, slowly being drawn into corruption themselves. Filled with conspiracies, shootouts and dancehall numbers, the film is at its core a searching, human story about the fragility of relationships and power struggles, and presents a fascinating look at the historic forces which shaped modern Hong Kong.
